The repair of the motorized fused disconnect for the Booster RF system is well underway and will most likely finish within the next hour or so. Once that repair has finished, the RF Group will need to verify that the original problem causing the Mod Anode voltage drop in that RF system was successfully repaired yesterday. Based on this information, we estimate the refill of the SR will take place at approximately 13:00. A PA announcement will be made at least 1/2 hour before the refill. The 19:45 refill of the storage ring tonight and, most likely, the 07:45 refill tomorrow will be canceled due to problem with the motorized fused disconnect which provides power to the Booster RF system. This piece of equipment is located outside and, due to the weather and lack of light, no work can be performed on this system until tomorrow morning. We should know between 10:00 and 12:00 tomorrow whether this equipment can be repaired by 16:00. If it cannot be, we will schedule a storage ring beam dump and switch to a back-up RF system. This switch will result in no stored beam for approximately three hours. If stored beam is lost before the equipment can be repaired, personnel will be contacted to come in immediately and do the switch to the back-up RF system at that time. The downtime in this case would be expected to be in the 3-1/2 to 4 hour range. We will send out an update at around 10:00 tomorrow, or earlier if we have any information regarding the repair.
