Our Mission

An essential part of the Magnetic Devices Group is to do magnetic measurements of IDs, to tune them, to provide the best performance from the point of view of radiation quality, to minimize the perturbations of the particle beam in the APS storage ring by providing gap independence of magnetic field integrals, and to maintain the performance of the devices.

Divison Mission

The Magnetic Devices Group is a part of the Accelerator Systems Division.

The mission of the Accelerator Systems Division (ASD) provides engineering and physics support for the Advanced Photon Source and pursues research and development profitable to the science of accelerators and future light source technologies.
